The bulkhead has 3 or 4 compartments and stands on a support structure, from which the aggregate scale is suspended on load cells. Raw material is delivered by tipper truck or front end loader into the individual bulkhead compartments.
The boom scraper slews to left or right to address the different compartments containing the aggregates. The boom scraper then scrapes the aggregates closer to the centre of the bulkhead, which is directly above the aggregate scale. Pneumatically-operated discharge gates are fitted at the base of each compartment.
The aggregates are individually discharged into the aggregate scale, which measures each component, and once the desired amount is reached, the discharge gate for each respective compartment is closed.
This system is followed until all the pre-selected aggregates have been discharged into the aggregate scale. The aggregate scale then discharges the measured aggregates into the skip for hoisting into the mixer.
